March, spring time ! A wild relative of ‘Jai’, flowers in forests during early summer season adorning the clusters with its super white flowers. It can be easily used for beautification in gardens.

Scientific name: Jasminum malabaricum
Family: Oleaceae
A perennial, evergreen, large, woody climber commonly found in deciduous patches & forests in high rainfall areas like Kokan & Sahyadri. It grows in association with other vegetation like karwand, toran, regenerating trees, and climbs on trees in dense patches. Its white, fragrant flowers in bunches look very attractive. Dark violet coloured fruits are favoured by birds. The fruits, popularly known as gugharya, constitute one of the important articles of food. Fruits are eaten locally by frying and cooking.
