Last month of the year brings you an uncommon orchid called Dendrobium ovatum. It is endemic to Western Ghats and has got ‘vulnerable’ status, due to habitat destruction. |

Dendrobium ovatum
(Scientific name)
This is an epiphytic orchid, also known as Harit Abha. It is occasionally found in moist deciduous and evergreen forests. It develops leaves during monsoon and sheds during flowering. Stem is just like long fingers with flowers at the tip. |
