Few orchids have characteristic shape of flower e.g. dancing dall, kathakali, ladies slipper etc. Habenaria marginata is one such orchid with flowers looking like octopus !

(Scientific name)
This is an terrestrial orchid, also known as Son-amri due to its bright greenish yellow color. It grows in open grassy areas on slopes. Commonly seen in dry or moist deciduous forests. |
