Greetings from oikos !
Small Salmon Arab is a member of family ‘Pieridae’.
Scientific name : Colotis amata.
It is a common butterfly found in drier and costal habitats.
Rarely found in forests, never on high hills.
Likes sunny situations. On the wing almost throughout the year.
Weak, fluttering, but directional flight close to the ground.
Larval Food plants:
Salvadora persica, S. oleoides, Azima tetracantha
पीलू - Salvadora persica
A small tree or shrub found along coastline as mangrove associate.
Also found occasionally in drier parts of India.
Also known as Meswak. |
